Directed by Travis Knight from a screenplay written by Chris Butler, Masters of the Universe marks the long awaited live action feature adaptation of Mattel's iconic 1980s franchise. Following years of development turnarounds across multiple studios, the project found its home at Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, with Escape Artists producing. Principal photography took place across expansive UK soundstages and visual effects heavy environments, utilizing practical suit builds, intricate creature prosthetics, and high budget CGI to recreate Eternia's distinct blend of science fiction and sword and sorcery aesthetics.
Debuting in theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026, the film served as a major summer blockbuster for Amazon MGM Studios. The feature stars Nicholas Galitzine in the dual role of Prince Adam and He-Man, alongside Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and Alison Brie as Evil Lyn. Audiences and long time fans celebrated the film for its faithful homage to the original toy line and animated series, vibrant world building, and high octane fantasy action, reinvigorating the global He Man property for a new generation.
