Directed by Angel Manuel Soto (Blue Beetle) from a screenplay written by Jonathan Tropper (Banshee, The Adam Project), The Wrecking Crew is an action comedy produced by Amazon MGM Studios. The production leans heavily into classic 1980s and 90s buddy cop tropes, combining high stakes vehicular stunts and visceral hand to hand combat with quick witted comedic chemistry. Principal photography took place extensively across Hawaii and New Zealand, utilizing stunning coastal environments and practical explosive set pieces to ground the film's energetic action sequences.
Released globally on Prime Video in 2026, the film stars Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as the mismatched lead duo, supported by a strong ensemble cast including Frankie Adams, Claes Bang, Temuera Morrison, Jacob Batalon, and Stephen Root. Audiences and critics praised The Wrecking Crew for the infectious, larger than life screen chemistry between Momoa and Bautista, its fast-paced action beats, and its fun, nostalgic throwback approach to the buddy action genre.
